Volunteer with Us
When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.

We are happy to provide prospective volunteers with opportunities for professional, community, and skill development. Students looking to find volunteering positions for school credits may also apply. Volunteers will be appreciated with various benefits such as free tickets to events, free beverages, snacks, and other gifts as feasible.
We are looking for volunteers for the following tasks:

-
On-site Assistance: Event set-up, errands, reception and security, housekeeping, etc.
-
Administration: Translation services, customer and donor service, outreach, tech support, etc.
-
Marketing: Social media assistance, audio-video assistance, flyer distribution, etc.
-
Café: Cash and server assistance, barista service, food service, bussing, vendor assistance, etc.
-
Community Creativity: Contribution to community arts and crafts, decorations, complimentary & promotional merchandise, etc.
-
Other: Specialised skills such as handyman, photography, videography, advanced tech support, etc.
Rhoda Foundation aims to provide equal opportunities for all volunteers with safe and comfortable working conditions. Individuals interested in volunteering with the organization are expected to fill out our volunteer agreement form. Volunteers must report to the Executive Director or the supervising staff member for task allocation and completion or in the case of an incident.
Policies for Staff and Volunteers
The “Staff” of Rhoda Foundation includes all board members, employees and contractors. Employees and Contractors are individuals and companies providing services for financial compensation on payroll or contract basis under Ontario’s Pay Equity Policy and Employment Standards Act. Board members are involved with the Foundation in a volunteering capacity but have special access and permissions that casual volunteers do not.
All staff and volunteers must adhere to Rhoda’s policies, including:
-
Community Policies, Guidelines, and Procedures (mandatorily the Accessibility and Human Rights Policies, Code of Conduct, and Internal Operational Policies).
-
No Smoking, No Substance Abuse, and No Alcohol Policy while on the Premises.
Discrimination, harassment, or violence against staff, volunteers, or guests will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action, up to termination. Compliance with legal and safety regulations and related training is required, including Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), and public health protocols (including COVID-19 prevention).
Confidentiality must be maintained regarding internal, operational, communicational, and financial matters.
