Your support means a lot to us. We aim to be transparent with you about how we plan to use your financial help and keep you updated on our progress!

OUR SERVICES

Our goal is to continue providing these services and facilities for personal and spiritual development for all ages - from children to senior citizens, from all backgrounds. We also plan on expanding our services and facilities to other minority communities - including Indigenous Peoples, immigrants, settlers and others - who we recently introduced to our space through our events.

The Rhoda Foundation supports community members by:

Helping them find spiritual guidance, meaning and belonging
Providing a prayer and community gathering space
Supporting families with developmental programs and services
Providing a daycare facility for working families
Hosting a Yemeni restaurant with a commercial kitchen

We have some new and existing projects planned for Spring, Summer & Fall 2025:

The Rumi Cup: A community cafe, event venue, art gallery, and co-working space for all - in one destination. The Rumi Cup plans to organize its own artistic and cultural programming and collaborative events for the general public.
Cultural, Musical & Art Programs: A roster of world-renowned artists leading our spiritual and cultural performances such as Sema Nights, Musical Mehfils and Nuits Blanches.
Centre Éducatif Floraison: A fully-functional daycare and after-school childcare facility.
Alchemya Bookstore & Library: Launched during the sacred month of Ramadan in March 2025.

PROJECTS FOR 2025

Growing in Love: A weekly signature program that is welcoming to all ages to build and foster community across generations.
Child & Youth Development Programs: Various family-friendly programs that encourage child and youth skill and personality development.
Zahra Ecological Farm: Environmental-friendly programs that teach community members from all ages to sow, nurture and grow food gardens.
Community Kitchen & Community Development Projects to continue serving community members in need.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

Your donations help us in the following ways:

Maintaining the facility that houses Rhoda Sufi Garden, Centre Éducatif Floraison, and the Rumi Cup - including beautification of the premises
Paying our hardworking staff and promote volunteers towards stable employment
Providing services and resources for community members
Organizing events and promoting artists from all socio-cultural backgrounds

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes! Rhoda Foundation is a registered Canadian charity and can provide tax receipts. For recurring and one time donations, we send out annual tax receipts every February. To qualify for a tax receipt, the donor must have a Canadian address and postal code.
How does the organization protect donor information?

Rhoda Foundation is committed to keep your personal, financial and device data safeguarded in compliance with Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Check out our detailed Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
I'm not able to donate, but I know someone who can. Can I help out that way?

Yes! We are open to be put in touch with philanthropists and resource providers who are interested in our cause. We are also open to receiving zero-interest personal loans. Please reach out to admin@rhoda-foundation.org with an expression of interest!
Can I volunteer or visit before donating?

Absolutely! Seeing the impact firsthand is the best way to understand our work. Join a community event, tour the space, or volunteer with us. For ways to volunteer, check out our Volunteer interest page.
Can I sponsor a specific project?

Yes! Take a look at our Projects and reach out to us via email (finance@rhoda-foundation.org) to let us know which project you would like to sponsor. Your project-specific sponsorship can help us organize events, and pay assigned staff and program costs.
How can I get updates about the impact of my donation and the organization’s progress?

We aim to offer transparency to all our donors - whether you donated $5 or $5,000. You can subscribe to our "Donors and Sponsors" email list to get specific updates on our fundraising status, end-of-year reports, charity impact reports as well as any other fundraising events we may have.
