As Ramadan approaches, we are pleased to share with you some updates on our activities and work over the last couple of months.
We're thrilled to announce that the daycare has finally received its license! The Centre éducatif Floraison takes an innovative holistic approach to early childhood mental and personal development. The daycare will provide a french-speaking and multicultural environment for your children to learn and grow. We're finalizing a few technical details and we will be opening applications very soon. We have also applied for the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care Program and are hoping for an answer in the near future. We'd like to sincerely thank the staff and volunteers, including our Operational Manager Ahmad Abu Bakr, Daycare Director Lalla Cherifa Dridi and Executive Director Hamdi Ben Aissa, who put their heart and soul to launch this project. We are also happy to share that the Rhoda Foundation's Regenerative Cultures Committee has received two grants from EnviroMuslims and Greening Sacred Spaces/Watershed Canada. The grants are supporting preliminary work to establish the Rhoda Masjid Farm. In partnership with Just Food (2391 Pépin Ct), we are looking into the feasibility of establishing a farm to grow our own food, generate income, create work opportunities for both young and old, and educate our community. The plan is to launch in 2024, so stay tuned! To support our fundraising efforts, we struck a partnership with Sky View Accounting. Sky View will be donating 50% from each transaction to the Rhoda Foundation. Make sure to work with Sky View Accounting for your personal and corporate tax services. The snow is melting, the seeds are sprouting, and we are welcoming the holy month of Ramadan. The Rhoda Masjid has an array of activities for everyone!
